Texas Inn
Texas Inn is a Lynchburg, Virginia landmark. People go there for the Cheesy Western, a cheeseburger with a fried egg. This landmark sits next to downtown.
I was commissioned to do this piece for a husband of my wife’s co-worker. He loves it so much, I hear it has a hallowed place in his bedroom.
It is fun to capture bits of Americana. When painting something like this, try and capture it in early morning or late evening light. That is when things look their best. Another thing to do is zoom in on the subject. This makes the painting more interesting!

One thing I always love about your painting is the vibrant colors. I think my favorite part in this painting is the truck. Oh, and I want to try me one of those Cheesey Westerns.
Your painting makes me want to head on in to the Texas Inn. The cheeseburger with a fried egg? Not so much.
I think you captured the general atmosphere of the Texas Inn perfectly! What with the truck and all….
