My Dad challenged me to do a painting of cars downtown, at sunrise or sunset. Unfortunately with my Dad duties, I never got a chance to go take photos for the painting, so he sent me a few, and I chose this one, because I really like Toyotas, and thought the reflections and light on the cars were nice.
In Homage to my dad, Tom Slack ( http://tomslack.com ) an excellent artist himself, I decided to rename the business in the painting after him. Tom’s Fine Art. That is one of the great things about being an artist, You have the freedom to change what is actually there, to make the picture better.
Morning and Evening light makes great landscapes. The light is warmer and directional, causing strong lights and shadows. Everywhere looks better in the morning and evening.
