Evening at the Tower

IMG_3296I love history.  I am an Anglo American, so British history has a special spot in my heart.   A month ago, my wife and I were able to go to London for our anniversary, and a friend’s wedding.  It was an awesome place.  I think that I was most excited to see the Tower of London.  We toured it one day, and learned all about what it has been used for since it was built in the 11th century, by William the Conquerer.

A few evenings later we were able to cruise on the Thames. I loved seeing the juxtaposition of modern London with the ancient history. I especially loved seeing the Tower, the way most visitors historically would have seen it, from the river.

This is a view of the castle, at twilight.  The sky was not yet dark, but the lights were already lighting up some of the more recent additions.  The Ancient White Tower was silhouetted against the sky. So Cool!

I love this painting, Jared. It evokes wonderful flavors, both from the castle and its grounds and from the river.
