I love water, and especially  Mountain Lakes. There is something calming about being on a boat out in the water.  I spent most weekends during the non frozen season of my youth in a canoe with my dad. It was wonderful. Lynley and I honeymooned on the Blue Ridge Parkway.  One place she had wanted […]

I started college in the small town of Ephraim, Utah.  Snow College was so much fun, and I loved being in the very rural environment of San Pete County, Utah.  Looking south from town, I could see the beautiful Manti Temple in the distance. The Manti Temple is one of the first temples that the […]

Our nation is beautiful and varied.  In 2013 our family took a trip out west. I have always enjoyed driving across the country, and seeing the landscape change. We crossed from Appalachian peaks and greenery, to lush Midwest farms, on to the treeless plains, cut by badlands, across the rugged, snow capped Rockies, and into […]

This painting was a bit of a breakthrough for me. I decided to just let myself be more loose with the color, which relates to some of my earlier work. I am happy with the results. I love wilderness, and hiking. I enjoy being out in nature, and enjoying God’s masterpiece.   This painting is […]

(Actually, I have caught many fish off of that point, and camped right there a couple of times.) What makes […]

When I was a kid, I loved camping.  I especially loved going with my dad, uncles, cousins and grandpa on fathers and sons outings.  One of my favorite places to go was Mirror Lake, in the High Uinta Mountains of Utah.  It is where my dad, both grandpas, and others would go camping. Mirror Lake […]

Travel is one 0f my favorite things. I love seeing the varied and beautiful world we live in.  One of the most spectacular spots is Yellowstone Canyon. I love the way the sunlight and shadows cause the walls to radiate, and the color to vibrate. Yellowstone Falls are so large and glorious too.

My faith is a big part of who I am.  I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  One of the biggest things we believe in is that families can be together, even after death.  Our temples are beautiful buildings, in which we perform sacred ordinances to make this possible. […]

Lower Cascade Falls is in Hanging Rock State Park, North Carolina.  I had visited the area and seen Upper Cascade Falls many times, but had never seen this falls, because there is no trail to it.  When I visited with my Sisters family from Indiana, my nephews and niece were scrambling all over exploring and […]
