It is fun to live in an area where horses are common. Horsey was my daughter’s first animal word.  She said it when we went for walks past the pastures. Today I painted a line of horses, eating their breakfast.

I live in a very beautiful place. My Grandma once described Indiana as “a painting everywhere you look.” I live in North Carolina, but I think the sentiment fits even better here. I have a little walk I like to take around my community. I walk down the hill, past an old farmhouse, and turn […]

I am so lucky! I have lived in so many beautiful places! I live near a small town in Central North Carolina.  When I head in to town I have a choice, the state highway, or a country road.  I love the country road because there are so many beautiful scenes. North Carolina has some […]

Temples are sacred places.  We consider them to be the House of the Lord. Out of reverence for Deity, we make our temples as beautiful as we can. We crossed from Appalachian peaks and greenery, to lush Midwest farms, on to the treeless plains, cut by badlands, across the rugged, snow capped Rockies, and into […]

This painting was a bit of a breakthrough for me. I decided to just let myself be more loose with the color, which relates to some of my earlier work. I am happy with the results. I love wilderness, and hiking. I enjoy being out in nature, and enjoying God’s masterpiece.   This painting is […]

I really enjoy my cousin and his wife.  They are so much fun.  When we were in Utah last year and visited them they took us to some neat sites to rockhound.  This painting is of a cool place not only because of the minerals we found, but also because it was the site of […]

Some scenes are very iconic and specific. some are universal.  This is an example of a universal scene. Although this is Mirror Lake, in Utah, one of my favorite places, It could be almost anywhere. (Actually, I have caught many fish off of that point, and camped right there a couple of times.) What makes […]
