London is such a cool city. There is so much history and culture. Modern buildings are next to thousand year old walls. When we were in London we got to do a evening cruise on the Thames. It was a great way to get to know the city as the river flows through the heart […]

I have never been one to party. Mostly I like to be home after dark. However, being downtown in a big city at night is beautiful. The skyscrapers lit up are great, and the neon glowing in the night is beautiful. This is a painting of Indianapolis at night. It is from a photo my […]

River towns are interesting.  This particular town was a booming place in the 1800s, and still survives today due to it’s proximity to Cincinnati. There is a juxtaposition  of beautiful historic homes, architecture, and modern industry

I love historic homes.  The character of the homes is wonderful. I love the colorful intricacy of Victorian homes, The stateliness of Colonial style, the artisonal nature of Craftsmen homes.  Old farmhouses are beautiful. Antibellum Georgian homes are gorgeous. It is located on the banks of the Ohio River, just downstream from Cincinnati, and is full of beautiful historic business, and many beautiful churches. […]

I have painted this group of buildings 3 times.  I like this one the best!  I especially love the character that shows in these old buildings in our historic business district. This painting shows how sunlight is warm. The white highlights actually have a little yellow, and the shadows are cool, containing blue or Violet […]

In recent decades, many communities have tried to solve the problem of empty downtowns, caused by shopping malls, and businesses moving to the outskirts of the city.  Now small local businesses are moving into these open spaces.  Two common businesses are galleries, and antique shops. This is a painting of a flea market store in […]

I enjoy architecture.  One of my favorite styles in homes is Craftsmen, because it isfun to see all the personal details that were added to the buildings.  I also love big front porches.  We don’t see them a lot any more because we have become indoor people.  I would love to have a house that […]
