I am always happy to have a commission. They are a challenge, and can lead to paintings that stretch my repertoire. This is a fun commission. A father hired me to paint his daughter’s favorite pub. We decided to do a twilight scene. This pub is in the cool town of Sylva, NC.

I love neighborhoods. It is fun to see the architecture of homes, and what people choose to do with their landscaping.  There is a calm familiarity of the homes and the trees. This painting was about the light on the homes, their different shapes, and the way the trees affect the light and shadow.
