Warwick Castle is a very historic edifice along the Avon River in England, not far from Stratford upon Avon, where Shakespeare was from. It was built at the location of a pre-Norman hill fortress, and was begun by William the Conquerer. This castle was important in many medieval wars, most notably the English Civil War, and the War of the Roses. It is in a beautiful location, in the Avon Valley, near the town of Warwick.
I loved visiting the site, and could imagine living here in years gone past.
